Glaucoma research continues to move forward, offering scientists a better understanding of how the disease damages vision and how future treatments might help protect the optic nerve. On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 5 p.m. EDT, The Glaucoma Foundation hosted a free webinar and question-and-answer session featuring glaucoma researcher Jeffrey Goldberg, MD, PhD.

About the Speaker

Dr. Jeffrey Goldberg, MD, PhD, is Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology and Director of the Byers Eye Institute and the Spencer Center for Vision Research at Stanford University. His research focuses on protecting and repairing the retinal nerve cells and optic nerve damaged by glaucoma and other eye diseases. His goal is to turn laboratory discoveries into new treatments for patients.
